Antique French Corsets - cleaning-best score EVER!

So I am currently in France, and I scored 8-10 antique corsets (as well as about 8 handmade antique boutis- but that's for another time!) I can hardly believe my luck: however in researching recommended cleaning methods, I am seeing conflicting advice. Some say one must NEVER attempt to clean an antique corset - others say dry clean or hand wash. Some of these are in dire need of some manner of cleaning (I WILL add photos.) I can't very well imagine selling musty, dirty items, but I don't wish to damage them either. For reference, they are cotton, not silk. Thanks a million - I absolutely adore this site for all the helpful advice and kind people!

Cotton is way easier to handle than silk! Rust is a beast, though - and that is usually the worst part of rescuing antique lingerie. I will wait to offer any advice until I see some pictures. I, too, do not want to sell filthy items, nor store them in my house while waiting to sell. It is super common, especially if it is a tricky or very old item, to leave as is, with full disclosure for the buyer. For instance, if a museum had been interested, they would likely revoke that interest knowing something was possibly not properly restored. Depending on the items and their potential value dirty vs. clean - i.e. who are you gearing towards selling to, or who might be more interested on the price point difference between shabby and cleaned up, that may help you decide what to do. I look forward to seeing your finds!

Hello all! These are most of the pieces (2-3 additional items are floating around somewhere - I'll add photos when I find them.) I am by no means an expert in vintage/antique lingerie - and undoubtedly anyone reading this will be more knowledgeable than myself. However it is readily apparent these are from different eras, non? Sadie, firstly, thank you SO much for sharing your expertise with me - I am incredibly appreciative of your assistance (and that of everyone on this forum!) I sell on Etsy, but haven't yet thought about pricing, especially as I'm unsure as to what extent I will be able to clean them. Thanks again everyone!
P.S. I also picked up several items I am unable to identify, and will create a separate thread for these. (My best guess as to one of them is a support for a bustle)
