Antique Roadshow UK does clothes

its so rare, but i absolutely love the "take" when Antiques Roadshow does clothing.. and the UK (re-run) on PBS this am did just that.

A lady adored a mag. spread of a Vivienne Westwood dress, and two years later found it on Kings Row.. she snatched it for 250uk.

The appraiser checked the label and commented on how it was still in style 14 years later, and unlike most clothing today was worth 100(lbs?) more than she paid for it.

great investment, INCREDIBLE black dress w/ gold design!

<guilty> i love it too! i requested tickets for everyone i know in hopes of "winning the RS lottery".. i have so many pieces i'd like to take, but your limited to two. keep your fingers crossed i get them!

They came to Leicester at the beginning of September and I REALLY wanted to go. I forget why I didn't but if they come back here again, then I'm going and I'm going to bring some antique corsets with me and see what they say. :D

I'm hoping they DON'T get into old clothes. They've destroyed the US market on the buying end....their quotes are so inflated that every person who has a piece of costume jewelry values it at $3500. And think you're some kind of crook if you aren't willing to buy it at that price.

Maryalice You do have a point,
What I have seen so far (UK) they mainly feature several pieces from the some person may be a collector or dealer

I would have imagined over the years an odd item of vintage fashions must have turned up but never made it on camera.
In my view so far the valuation have not yet been too OTT on vintage fashions also relying upon an opinion from the person who brought it in.

Lei might stand a good chance of getting on when a show comes close.
