Antique Tie Blouse

Late 1800’s to early 1900’s it looks like. I remember reading about placement of label helps date but I forgot where that came from and the specified dates. It has a tie holder at back of blouse so I tied at front. There is a lot of excess fabric that I folded towards the back to accentuate the waist. It looks like that is the way it was made to be worn possibly. Any information is appreciated!

Hard to say, as black can make it difficult to see the details in some photos. I am not seeing a lot of fabric pulled to the back, but maybe I am missing that. My guess is this is early 1900s and the excess fabric would have stayed mostly in the front of the blouse to accentuate and puff out the bosom area as in the circa 1900-1904 pouter pidgeon or "S" curved styles. I am not 100% sure so lets see what others think.

Whoa, any chance this a uniform from the Waldorf (later Waldorf Astoria) Hotel? I think it was on 34th st when it first opened

Possibly! I am unsure on that one though. I believe The Waldorf originated on 33rd St and the Astoria was on 34th street. The crossover would be interesting though.
