Any divers in the house? Wetsuit help needed

I am totally in love with this wetsuit but I have very limited knowledge of such things. I need a course in wetsuit evolution. I think this piece is from the 80s, can anyone verify that? Do we have any divers in the house? The only logo says Mary Jane, it's all neoprene. No labels of any kind to help me research this further, and google is not showing anything by this brand. Two twist lock closures at the gusset. Large tooth zipper in front. Does this style of suit have a name? What say you?

You know, this may be earlier than 80's. It looks like the ones that Sean Connery as James Bond wore in Thunderball (1964). His was obviously not gingham check with cap sleeves, ORANGE I think his was with long sleeves, but it was the shorty style like this. What a cool find for your store!!

PS I found this action figure from the movie. I could find no good pics of him in it and must resort to GI Joe Moonighting as 007.

Here are a couple of things I was able to find online. Maybe it is one of these.

The beavertail, which was quite popular until the 1980s, had a flap which closed over the crotch and attached at the front with a fastener.

A legless wetsuit is available, although rare. They consist of long sleeves or none at all and no legs so the suit covers the crotch and most of the buttocks.

My husband who dives says they still make closures like that one some use velcro.... He would say 70's... He says the clasp is better then the velcro they use now.
