Any Givenchy experts out there? Can you help me find out more about this coat?

Hello and thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I have recently acquired an older looking style trench coat/duster made by the tag says "Givenchy". I have looked all over the coat for any other tags or other clues to what it's made out of or how to care for it. If I post some pictures is there anyone who can identify what kind of coat this is, perhaps how old or era it is from, and maybe were I can find more information on care for this coat? Any and all ideas would be appreciated.

Hmmm. The label doesn't match anything we have in our label resource. The coat has a 70s look to me. If it is "the" Givenchy, it was most likely a licensed diffusion line for a broader market. I would expect a high end Givenchy to have real leather trim rather than faux.
 
I don't think they had "XL" sizes in the '70s, I think they came in the '80s but it could be different in different countries.

Is that collar over another collar? In which case, could the cuffs have been added too? I think your coat is more recent too, post 1990.
 
Thank you for the information, I had to look up what "diffusion line" was and I think I would have to agree that some of the other "Givenchy" Coats I've seen are much higher quality with genuine leathers/furs. I just wish I new how to care for it, because as the pictures show the trim is peeling. :(
