Any ideas on age?

Hello all,

I came across this vintage silk and fur piece the other day. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on age? I was leaning towards the 20s myself, but everyone here is much more knowledgeable than I am. Also, what exactly would you say it is? A jacket..a robe? It doesn't have any tags, and the silk sleeves extend past the fur cuffs. Thank you in advance.

Is the coat satin or a panne velvet? I can't quite make out the pattern on the front, and I also can't tell if its a large size, or made without any waist seam, or if the collar can do up... I would have to handle it to see how it is constructed on the inside to be sure, but it looks like it might be from about 1915. It might be something designed for an older woman in the late 1920s, but I think its more likely 1915ish.

The fabric is a satin type with the stitched embroidery. There really isn't any kind of of a waist. It had two snaps near the mink head, although one is missing. I do believe the collar can be put up. There is a button near the one side of the collar as well as a loop below on the other side.

Does this sort of wrap over in front, so the right side would hikes up a bit and snap/close to the other side? I love the unusual shaping in front.

I was wavering between late 'Teens and early to mid 1920s. The graphics look Art Deco, but could be earlier too.

What does the interior look like? Do you think the collar was made to stand up or to lay flat as you show it?

It is yummy!

I'm not sure this would have been called this in the era, but today the common term is opera or theatre coat.

It is stunning, is there perhaps a tie belt on the edge of the longer side of the coat that would tie to another piece of silk tie belt on the inside which would be attached to the side seam. It is a bit difficult to date although I must say that due to the fur collar shape as it quite wide is leading me more to the teens than the 20s and I could see it with a long rather fitted skirt. In the photos the fur of the collar looks a bit different from the edge and the cuffs, are they all the same fur?

The collar does appear it can be put up, as there is a button and loop on opposite sides. I do not see any kind of ties or where a belt would be attached. The only closure I see are the two snaps near the head of the mink. The inside is somewhat plain with half being a cream satin, and the rest being blue. I do believe the fur on the collar, cuffs, and edge are the same type.
