Hello everyone! Let me start by saying how amazing the wealth of information is on this site. I am a lover of vintage clothing and a new(ish) collector. I have recently uncovered a dress that I think might be an important piece. This dress is in great condition with the exception of the straps being moved & some very minor wear under the arms. It has beautiful box pleats in the back, metal zipper and netting under the skirt. The label reads "Hattie Carnegie Blue Room". I've read about her on the forum & was delighted with this find. Could anyone give me any info about this dress? Thanks so much for any & all responses! This sight is awesome!

I'm having a hard time posting my pic. I'm boarderline computer illiterate, so bear with me. The pic is too big!

One of our own members, Lizzie Adams Bramlett mentions the Blue Room on her blog.

it's an interesting tidbit of info..."The Blue Room was a special area open between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Its purpose was to give men a special area in which to shop for the ladies in their lives."

Your gown is lovely looks like a gold brocade from the photo.
