Ok, more info. I am a mover and often get my hands on odd things that I like to keep rather than sell. These were in an antique ceder chest I was given. I'm trying to get information on Bonwit Teller and possibly a date and value of this silver fox shawl. They are in good condition. They also have only one tag which goves no more information than I can find myself.

Any information is appreciated.

Bonwit Teller was the name of an upscale department store. That doesn't look like their old labels, but I am no expert!!

Hi,

That is one beautiful silver fox stole, a nice double one too. I feel sad for the little foxes though...but I do love silver fox fur....sigh. It really screams 1940's to me. Also, that looks just like Bonwit's 40s label, but I have not seen the green lettering, usually it is gold.

If the foxes are not shedding, and it has no noticed flaws, these sell well for me in the cooler months as Fall and Winter approach. Summer is not the best time to sell furs, it is a good time to buy them however.

I've taken a closer look and the fur seems to be in very good condition, nothing comes out when I run my fingers through them and no stains or anything on them. Also, there seems to be a white substanse on the noses of them (very small spot) as if they were once glued together but that doesn't seems right, but then again, I'm no fashion expert. They were owned by a very wealthy man's wife I moved so they seemed to have been well taken care of.

Anyone know what these sell for typically? Ive seen some go for $45 and some fetch hundreds. I'm in south florida so these are not popular to wear obviously :sunshine: so I would be listing this online if I decide to sell. I cant fond a Bonwit Twitter like this to compare or reference.

Thanks again, you all have been unbelievably helpful!
