Any info on this "nod" dress?

Hello lovely people of VFG, I have this strange (to me) dress and was hoping someone might have some info about it. No tag, metal zipper that I believe reads "DANA", surely polyester (and in need of repair.) Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is odd. It could say "Noa." Hopefully a better researcher than I will come along. My first impression, era-wise - is 60's.

That IS strange! Would the "NOD" be a later addition? Maybe it was a sample and not meant to be worn?

I wonder if it might have been made as a particular dress to market a company or as part of a uniform. It's strange for sure.

Looks 60s to me too. The "nod" is definitely strange! Something to with marketing is probably the best explanation for that...

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I think its likely it was made (or added later) for promoting a company or event. Hadn't even thought of that. Hopefully I'll be able to dig up something more about it, will come back if I do
