Hello,

So today I was browsing St Vincent De Pauls, when i came across two pair of what looked to be vintage Levi's, and they were both brand new. There was no label indicating their size nor was there the infamous Levis patch on the back of them, but when I tried them on they fit, and they're definitely of better quality than what I purchased the other day for more than double, so at $12 I purchased both pair.

My question is before I wear these new jeans out, are these of any value? Also, could these possibly be fakes? These jeans seem to fit me well, but I've also always been against wearing fake merchandise. I usually don't spend over $40 on a pair of jeans either, and would hate to wear these out if they were of any truly high value. I appreciate that these might be vintage, but in the end for me Levi's are Levi's and I'd much rather just go out and purchase another pair of lesser value.

Anyways, i took pictures and will be posting them up in a few minutes.

(edit) Ok, so here are the pictures. Real of fake these jeans seem pretty quality. What does the red X on the inside mean? isn't that a taylor mark? Never seen it on a pair of Levi's. I hope they're real though so at the very least I have a nice new pair of jeans to wear out tonight for NYE 2012! :)

If you do a search on the forums for Levi's, you will find some informative threads; this is a very common question.

As for me, I think your jeans are fairly recent, they seem to have that hipster style that was in fashion in the early 2000s but of course, if you show the labels it will help. There should be some somewhere, at least content/care/country of origin - check the inside seams.

They could also be fakes - I'm not a Levis' expert but the chain stitching on the back pocket is not how I've usually seen these done.

I suspect the tailor's chalk X and the removed Levi's label mean they were dead stock that the retailer donated to charity because they didn't sell. This is a common practice.

^^^Yeah, that was the search I was doing, but nothing came up forum wise. Any suggestions on a forum? Even if these jeans are new I'm still glad to have purchased two pair of Levi's for a combined $24.

Alexander -

If you type in Levi's in the search box at the top of this page - at least 8 pages of posts (including this one) will come up. I'm not sure that your question will be answered but you will definitely find more information! It will help the Levi's experts if you can post a close-up picture of the label.

There's no question that you got a good buy ! Good luck with your search.
