Hi again to all: I was wondering if anyone knew the maker and or date of this shirt. The garment label has lost its ink. I think it might have come from Mexico or Hawaii. I inherited it from husbands Uncle who traveled to both places. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Its a type of the traditional Guayabera shirt. Mostly associated with Cuba, but also Mexico and is also worn a lot in The Phillipines. These can be hard to date from just a photo as they have been around a long time with little, if any, changes. There are many makers of these shirts, so it will be difficult to ID a maker.

Some clues to dating might be the fiber content, is it cotton, cotton/poly blend, nylon, etc. The collar looks 1970s style to me.

nice one!

i agree w/everything Barbara says: Guayabera, and that larger collar looks 70s to me, too.

if you can, try to list it right away, as July 1st is Guayabera Day, at least in Miami. :)

Thank you for the quick responses. It amazes me the wealth of knowledge on here. I'm glad I found this site
