Any Pucci experts out there?

Hmm.. i don't know what zippers were used on Puccis. I think that replacement zip or no, if its in great condition as stated it may not impact it.

(i want to see a picture!) :)

Chris,
Here's a picture. This dress doesn't have the usual bright colors, but the pattern is really nice.

The guy who sold this to me told me his mom used to work for Pucci in the 60s, but he sure didn't know anything about the zipper. He did tell me he thought there were more in her house in France and was supposed to fly over there and clean the place out. I hope he calls me if he comes back with any!

Anyway, I consider myself lucky I got this one.

Blue Velvet Vintage

I really like that!

Its better that its a little muted....one would notice the woman wearing it. Some women who can' carry off a more traditional Pucci look like the dress is wearing them.

I think the Pucci I had a while back also had a handset zipper. Hand set zips are considered a sign of quality and lay better in a soft knit than a machine set one.

If the stitching is small and neat it is likely original.

where is the pucci tag? if it is offset from the center back, i'll bet its original. If there was no zipper originally, i'd likely be in the center, yes?
unless, of course, its on an interior skirt seam...

What a gorgeous Pucci and I am not one for Pucci...
I would be rather suspicious if the zipper on a vintage Pucci was not hand picked and such. As Hollis has already said it is a sign of high quality if done in tiny neat stitches..
I literally do searches for hand picked, hand stitched, hand finished..
Although I am not sure many others do that LOL

Nice find!
