Along with two very old pairs of ski pants, this ski coat popped out of a box of things I bought leftover from an estate sale. The label is "Arctic Feather and Down Company" from Seattle. I have found out that this label was started by Eddie Bauer in 1936:
1936 Eddie introduces the Skyliner - first quilted down jacket patented in America (1940: #D119,122) - and forms Arctic Feather and Down Company
What I dont know is a possible date for the coat because I can't find info as to when this company stopped making coats - if ever. I checked with the USPTO site for help but nothing there to answer question either. Any help with an idea of era would be appreciated. I have been checking sites for historical ski fashion pics but so far no luck.
This is a really great coat - the satin (satin-like) lining inside is wonderful and it is nearly perfect shape - just needs to go to dry cleaner. If I could just cut myself in half, I would keep this coat for myself.
Thank you!
