Michelle (California Doll) over on the VC&A board mentioned that you could get a book from Vanity Fair about their corporation at no charge by calling their headquarters.

For anyone who wants one of the books here is the information:

Vanity Fair Corporation
Greensboro, NC
Phone # 336-424-6000

Simply let them know you would like a copy of the book about their corporation.

I received mine two weeks ago and it's filled with all kinds of information including the time line for the changes in the Jantzen swimmer that is featured on the Jantzen label (they bought the company).

It's a hardback book and I'm enjoying reading it. I wonder if they would be able to provide accurate information on the lingerie labels. It might be worth contacting them about.

Two things I found in the book are first of all that the leopard print lingerie was started in 1953. The other thing is the book has a chart showing the Jantzen lady swimmer and how she changed over the years.

 Wonder if they ship to Canada. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

I will be needing the info on the swimmer tho'. later in the spring, when I get around to it, maybe, could be.

Hell, I think I should just quit while I'm ahead eh?

I'll see if I can find a pic of the swimmer on the green shorts I have. :spin:

I hear it's a great book. I emailed about it last week and they referred me to a page where I could buy it for $40+. I think they've had lots of requests.:(

Wow! I received mine and there was no charge at all. I requested it right after Michelle posted it on the VC&A board so they must have gotten a lot of calls. Sorry!

Since it was on VC&A. there's no telling how many requests they received.

I really did not realize they were located in Greensboro, about a 3 hour drive for me. I'm tempted to ask about seeing their archives.

That would be great if they would allow you access to it. In the book there are some timeline pieces of information but no lingerie labels at all which was a bit disappointing. I would think that they would allow you access just so that our resources would be accurate.
