I know absolutely nothing about jewlery so I need some help on these please.

Sorry about the pics...I cannot get good closeup pics...my camera just will not do it...I have read and reread the manual but I cannot get a good closeup.

First one - stamped Made in Austria
1. Can I assume they are some sort of crystal?
2. Era?
3. Any other helpful info

2. Era?

2. Era?
3. What are the beads? They are cut like crystals but feel like a plastic???

On the first one, i would think would be glass. Austria is well known for crystal, but crystals are usually individually set. I really like that! It would match a bunch of things.

As far as the second one, you would see things made in Japan post WWII and into the 50s and 60s. It is probably 50s or possibly very early 60s but i would wait for other opinions on that one

The third one, it would be post war through the dissolution of west germany in the late 80s. my guess would be same timeframe as the second one. It could possibly be a vintage plastic..

And I think they call them bib necklaces. "Chunky" is still in for Fall so you could use that as a keyword, too.

The first one is Austrian crystal. Probably early to mid 50's.
The second one is more than likely blown glass, and maybe even platic pearls. Also 50's.
The last one is molded plastic, and more than likely, the little spacers are glass, as well as the tail beads, for the hook. Western Germany, or Germany made jewellery, flooded the market after the war, and still fairly common, and affordable. I just sold a large lot of these, 17 pieces were crystal, multi-strand necklaces, like yours. Unfortunately, I only got $26.00 for the entire lot.
So I would advise, not listing them right now, if you dont have to. They should do much better around the holidays.
They are not neccessarily in demand, but I have seen people bid higher than usual on crystal beaded jewellery, especially around X-Mas.
Good luck with these, They are all very pretty. I sure someone will want them.
JMHO,

My experience with these has been to just keep picking them up everytime you see them, especially if they are cheap, a quarter or 50 cents. Then went you get 30 or 40 list them in a big lot.

I have done that in the past and done quite well with them that way.

FWIW, the only one I claim to know anything about is the Japanese pearl choker.... Faux pearls, probably glass if they have some "body" & weight to them, and I agree mid 50s to early 60s. I can't tell what those oblong pieces are--glass beads? But, because it's in the pink family, I would list that one separately. I sold a double-strand faux pink pearl choker (it did have rhinestone stations, but wasn't far off from yours style-wise) for over $30 on eBay a few months ago. My DH made me write the buyer and make sure she knew they were faux, 'cuz he couldn't believe somebody would pay that much for them! I have other colors--cream, yellow--that did NOT sell. Pink is still "in" and I hear purple is going to be big for fall! So now may be the perfect time!

Karen,

It's not in my lovely rita's eBay i.d.--it's under j-a.junque, but the listing is so old that I don't think it will link any more. If I still have the photo on file, I'll send it to you! But I may have deleted it off my hard drive & off Photobucket both.... I'll look!

The other thing to keep in mind always Karen is to go with your gut.

There are things that I (and other people) have sold that folks swore up and down "never sell". And then there are things that one gets that seem such surefires with everyone else and they end up sitting for four months.

We all have our unique way of "seeing potential" in an item and "framing" an item. So if something draws you too it, it is going to draw someone else, and you just might be the person to present the item in such a way that it does find that person. If the excitement you have for an item rubs off somehow in your listing, you will go far. Something might not sell for buckets of cash, but eventually, it will rub off on someone else

l always bite the bead..then you cant ell its galss...kids laugh when gadding aboutt with me and put an item in my mouth they are always horrified!!!

Another easy way to tell the difference between glass and plastic beads is to click the bead against your teeth. Glass beads have a distinct "click" when they hit your teeth that plastic doesn't.
