I can't seem to find much about Larry Aldrich (assuming that this is the same Aldrich!) other than the brief history on our label resource (this one isn't included... I should post it on the label thread once we establish a date!)
But that doesn't help me date this dress. I'm leaning towards 60's on this, but would love any other opinions and suggestions on how to market this...

Help appreciated!!

that's nice kristine! i half collect larry aldrich, but i've not seen that label before. i agree with 60's - late 60's? although i could be terribly wrong.
the later ones i've seen always tend to be 'marie mccarthy for larry aldrich', or young elegante by larry aldrich.. always with his full name.

waiting for someone more knowledgable on the topic though as that's as far as i go... :)

what's the fabric?

Just going by the big collar and cuffs, I would lean toward the 70s.

Someone on VCA gave this link:
<a href="http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1248/is_12_89/ai_80747884">Obituary of Larry Aldrich, 2001.</a>

It says that he retired from fashion, selling his company in 1966.
The label resource says early 70's.

Unsure which is correct.
But-- I'm assuming that whoever bought his company continued to produce under his name for some time?

Soo... late 60's, early 70's. I'll cover my bases. Thanks, gals!

I've been reading about Mr. Aldrich for the past several days, to make sure we get it right. I've got several sources that have him retiring in 1972, when he sold to business to one of his employees. The label then became Aldrich. So the dress has to be 1972 or later. I'd say no later than 74, and as Anne said, I remember wearing this style in the early 70s.

Ok 70's it is! :kiss2:

Anyone have any keyword suggestions? Think this is going in the store for now...
