Are these shoes from the 70s and can I get the scuff marks out?

Hello, I bought these shoes and I think they are from the 70s but am not 100% so I am hoping you will help me with that and they have scuff marks. Is there a way I can get the scuff marks out?
Thank you, Caryn

I'm not sure when they're from - they have all the hallmarks of the late 1960s but there is something about them that doesn't ring true for that period - the toe shape is a bit soft and the shiny gold sock lining doesn't seem right. I think they might be from the 80s perhaps... its hard to judge without handling them. At any rate, try a Mr. CLean eraser on the scuffs - it work's beautifully on shoe polish scuffs.

Thanks Jonathan. I have a book called Everyday Fashions of the Sixties and I saw some that were simlilar in the late 60s but not exact so I thought maybe the 70s. Then I looked at the early 70s and could find the heel and toe but really only in boots. Then I thought like you maybe 80s but I could not find any in the 80s that looked like this.
I actually bought a box of Mr Clean Erasers yesterday to try. Unfortunately my 3 year old got to them before me. I will have to get some more.
Thanks again, Caryn

Hi, No photo of the soul necessary. I found another pair of the same shoes brand new so these are not vintage. No wonder I had so much trouble finding them in earlier years.
Good thing I bought these as part of a lot. :)
Thank you, Caryn

It sure does, Jonathan! I bought some and not only is it a dream on scuffs, but it's also the first item I tried that takes off the felt pen marks put on by the stores on the bottom of footwear - in one gentle wipe, no less. Genius!

Thanks for the tip!
