Armpit Stains

DressUP

Well...
I bought an adorable little pink 50s party dress. The way the collar is I didn't see the armpit stains. Well now, since the dress isn't my size i'd like to sell it. But first I need to know how to get rid of those pit stains. Does anyone have any good methods. I heard a couple but I'm a little scared to try them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, i'm not 100% sure. But my mom and i's general thought is that it is some sort of polyester-cotton blend. I'm not a fabric expert but that seems like the most logical answer. It appears to be a homemade dress judging from the crooked seams and the lack of a tag.

yes...need to know the fabric!

but I have gotten pit stains out by coating in vinegar and then making a paste out of biz and water and laying the whole thing in bright sunlight.

Hope that helps!

I always use the old white vinegar and white towel trick. Spray it with white vinegar with a white towel underneath and start to dab, moving the white towel as it gets soiled. Then rinse in cold water and launder.

After this treatment if all is not gone, I would soak in oxyclean, rinse and hang to dry.

I'm a firm believer in adding together a cup of ammonia and a cup of biz and soaking it. I have had amazing luck with that. Fabric content is important to figure out though; i f it's a poly cotton blend you should be fine.
If you have already washed and dried it a few times stains will set in though :(
