Assuit wrist-style bucket purse???

I can honestly say that I have not seen this sort of work done on suede before.
What it does remind me of is the embroidery that was used on Greek souvenir woven wool skirts and bags in the 50s and 60s. I have had several of those items in the past.

Not sure this is it but it is what the work reminds me of.

Sweet purse!

It's difficult to be sure from your photos, but if the embroidery is metal plate, it is most likely Turkish Tel Kirma embroidery, from which Egyptian Assuit was developed via Ottoman rule.

*Tel Kirma was wrong. Tel Kirma uses the same z shaped stitch as Assuit. Your bag, if the embroidery is done with metal plate/flat wire, is more like Turkish Tel Sarma which is like broad plate goldwork. I'll try and find some photos to illustrate.

Tel Kirma. Like Assuit using the same stitch but the Turkish version almost always is found on a solid fabric and pierces the cloth, as opposed to Assuit which is done on tulle. ( But just to disprove the rule, some Turkish pieces are done on synthetic tulle)

2nd photo on synthetic tulle and using anodised wire.

Tel Sarma, flat wire piercing the fabric again, but this time the stitch is like broad plate goldwork. The patterns are also rounder and less linear.
