Thanks Jody!
That was a fun poll. I will have to stay up late with a bowl of popcorn tonight.
It has long been debated the fact that Audrey Hepburn won the role for My Fair Lady after Julie Andrews' Tony Winning interpretation of Eliza. She was told she was not pretty enough and her chin was too pointy. Of course later Julie Andrews won the role of Maria in "The Sound of Music" after replacing Mary Martin in the role on Broadway.
Marnie Nixon, who also "sung" for Natalie Wood in "West Side Story" lends her pipes to Audrey in this one. As proven by "Breakfast At Tiffany's" Audrey can sing, however not in the demanding range for her role in "Lady." Henry Mancini specifically wrote "Moon River" for Audrey upon hearing her sing a few bars in another film, I forget which, to insure that it would be in a comfortable range where it would easily compliment her.
No musical trivia for Charade that I can think of. Cary Grant turned down the role as i think i mentioned before at first unless it was rewritten from the angle that it looked like she as pursuing him, not the other way round so he wouldn't come off looking like a "dirty old man" as he was approaching 60 at filming.
