Auguste Bonaz Hair Comb - Info Please!

I was hoping someone could give me some information on these vintage hair combs. They have the name Auguste Bonaz made in France on the back. They are small stars with rhinestones. I would like to know what year they are from and what they are made of. Basically any information would be appreciated. I'm curious as to whether these items were sold in the United States or only in France?

Wow! Thanks Lynn for that wonderful page. That 1935 ad sure looks like my combs!! I wonder if that was the only year they made them or if they continued to manufacture them. Really hard to get a photo of the writing on the back. This is the best I could get.

I found the combs on a completed auction page. They belonged to Marilyn Monroe and I believe Marilynfan is asking for information about these exact combs and does not have them in hand or own them. This is the link:

I did some searching and discovered that August Bonaz combs were made until the 1980s but since Marilyn died in 1962, the combs are earlier than that. I think they are probably from the 1950s. If you click on the photo in the link to enlarge them you can see the details better.

Edited: I cross posted and didn't realize that Marilynfan owns the combs. I do think they are from the 1950s.

Auguste Bonaz did some of the best combs in the 1910s, 20s and 30s - it's a big name in combs. They worked in celluloid and galalith - I'd say from your photos the teeth are celluloid, but that is a just a guess.
