Just stumbled across this... the Palais Galliera is the fashion museum of the city of Paris, which opens only when they put on a special exhibition - there's no constant collection on show. It's been closed for quite long now though, for renovations. And it just reopened this weekend, with an exhibition on Azzedine Alaïa: http://palaisgalliera.paris.fr/expositions/alaia

Click on the video - it's in French, but they show a lot of the dresses in it.

I'm off to Paris next weekend, basically for another exhibtion, but we'll see, maybe we will have time for this too. I'll be reporting back :).

I still kick myself for passing up three pieces by this designer about 4 years ago. Each was priced at $24.99 at a local thrift store but that was more than I usually spend so I didn't buy. Now, of course, I have a smart phone and look up any possible woo-hoos. Ah well, live and learn!

OMG - wow!! That would have been a huge find for somebody else! What types of pieces were they? I have a couple of his skirts and they are fantastic.
