baby ducks

this has NOTHING to do with vintage OR clothing... but

was making lunch yesterday, and as i looked out our front window, i see this group of the CUTEST baby ducks headed toward the street...so i grab my camera, and head out to steer them back to nature...

yikes! not that way!!!

come on, turn around...(a couple hid underneath a truck in the parking lot...)

and yay! safely into greens and toward water ~

all the while, our girl dog Marti was watching intently...

Awww, sweet babies! What a good thing that you and Marti saw them, and led them back to safety. I hope the Mama was nearby and that they're now reunited.

i know...she SHOULD have been there...i'm hoping she came back to them, they were chirping like crazy, SO cute! but worrisome, without her ~

there were THIRTEEN of them!! i had no idea there could be so many in one batch.

And what a good dog not to go chasing them. What kind of dog is she? She's a beauty!

awww, thanks! she IS a beauty, isn't she? she is the sweetest mutt, supposedly at least part retriever. we got her at a Hillbilly Fair a few summers back, and she is my "baby!"

as for chasing them? she would have loved, too, but she is on a (very long) leash during the day. :dogs:

Hi Pauline! yes, we're blessed to live on the edge of a small town so we really have the best of both worlds: wild life nearby, no such thing as "traffic", quick snow removal in the winter, and we're only a couple miles away from the interstate which gets us to nearby cities fairly quickly. ahhhhhh!

its crazy, isn't it? with so many in a group like that? i couldn't actually count them til i looked at the photos, they were like a little dance team circling and twirling and spinning around!
