Hi,

I'm new here though I've been in fashion since mother got me modeling from age 9. I stayed in the biz many decades but that all was some time ago.

Now, who designed a certain lizard bag has me mystified. The bag seems to be from the 60s and there is a Saks label in addition to the inscribed name. The inscribed name begins with the letters “ Bell . . . .” and the name is overstamped on the drawing of a bell. Can't read the remainder of the label nor have I succeeded in finding anything by googling "vintage handbag bell...."

Anyone have a clue who designed the bag and am I correctly dating it to the 60s?

Many thanks!

Mia

Thank you for the welcome and suggestion that it is Bellstone.

Actually, I did post a picture but see that for some reason it didn't appear. I'll upload again. . . . Bellstone might be it. . . .

Ok, I'll try that picture again.

Ok, I've tried to attach the photo a half dozen times but every time I click "Preview Post" the photo I uploaded is not there.

Clearly, I'm missing something. I made sure my pic is smaller than 1 MG but it still didn't show in my last post.
Now, using Quick Reply, there's no option available to try to upload again.
Anyone have an idea why my pic isn't taking?

Thank you again for trying to help.

Mia

Mia, quickreply doesn't have the photo option. Is your photo hosted on the web somewhere? You need to type in (or copy & paste) that url into the post photo option.

BTW, welcome!

Mia, you probably did it right the first time, but you won't see your pic in the "preview." Use the "reply" button at the end of the last post in the thread, not "quick reply," upload the photo from your hard drive, and go ahead and submit your post; the picture should show.

If you have multiple shots to show, you will need to upload them to a photo hosting service such as Photobucket, then copy & past the IMG codes into your post. But to show one picture, uploading from your hard drive is the fastest and easiest way to do so. HTH!

Dying to see your bag!

Ok! Last try. It's showing in the Attachment screen, so let's see if it'll make an appearance! Otherwise, I'm now CERTAIN - thanks to you - that it is Bellstone - -

Oops - now it came up HUGE. Oh my. Sorry to have taken up so much room. The inside partial label photo is tiny and that is the one I kept trying to attach before. Now is this 50s or 60s in your opinions?
