Ballarat\'s secret couture and my secret plan
Hi everyone,
On Wednesday I gave a talk on ladies fashions (covering 1910 to 1990) at a regional museum, the Art Gallery of Ballarat. A journalist from the ABC came along and took some photos - here's a clip of me talking about vintage/antique clothing with some photos from my collection and also the collection of the gallery.
It's my no-longer-secret plan that I'd like to work with the gallery to catalogue their collection of clothing. Like many museums, they have a good and long standing collection but as you know, it's only recently that there has been sufficient interest in the value of period dress to get support in restoration and displaying it.
