I found these two dolls today. They appear to be mint. Apparently they are part of a series of 7 -- 1910s through 1970s. Mine are Fabulous 40s Barbie and Promenade in the Park Barbie (1910s).
My sister collects barbies so I'll send her an email and ask. I won't be able to get back to you until Monday because I have to email her at work (that's her only computer).
it was definitely Erte style. It might be a totally different series like the Bob Mackie Barbie, etc.
I really wish I still had my mom's Barbie. My doll of choice was Kitty O'Neal in the late 70s. She was in the same doll series with the Farrah Fawcett doll. She had a motorcycle helmut and a jumpsuit and they made a doll. She was a deaf stuntwoman and stunted it up for Linda Carter. I loved her because she actually had dark hair unlike Barbie and she seemed so much more cool being a stunt woman versus Golden Dreams Barbie and the one that had growing hair.
