Bathing Suit Cups

Hi all!
What can be/should be done with molded bathing suit cups that have started to disintegrate. I found a lovely Catalina suit that is in great condition save for the cups. Whatever was in there to form the cups has turned into something crunchy and is falling apart. I'd like to just take out whatever is in there but should it be replaced with something? Much thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions!
 
The cups contain a malignant polyurethane foam that deteriorates into dust. In the vintage world, we call it "Devil's Dust" and it's horrible - I wrote a blog post about it, it's often found in '60s bra cups, foam linings in clothes, hats and bags.

There's nothing you can do about it, so it's best to cut the panels out and throw them away. I usually just sell as is, without them but if you want to replace, haberdashers often have new ones you can add in.
