I only have/had a few minutes to search for information for you, but I found this 1948 ad. Note it says the business was founded in 1919 and "L. Baum" was the furrier." If you are planning on selling the fur, please do not include this ad -- or the ones below -- in any sale information, as it is all apparently copyrighted. These are for educational purposes only. Thanks!

As Lynne showed that was the furrier who initially crafted and sold the coat. Most of the time the furrier label does not add to the value of a fur. If you can show me a brighter photo of the front and the back of the coat I can id the fur type for you if you'd like me to.

The furrier's name was Leonard Baum/Bernbaum (a family tree notes both names, so he may have shortened his name to Baum). He was born in May 1894 and died in Southend-on-Sea in May 1990.

Oops...I see the image is too small to read. It says:

"1939 England and Wales Register for Leonard Baum;
Essex, Southend-on-Sea CB, DAHE."

(Address) 184 London Rd, Southend; Schedule #3, Sub #1
(I have no idea what that means); Baum Leonard, M(ale); Birth: 13th May 1894;
(S, M, W, or D) M (
I don't know what that means either...oh...wait...probably Single, Married, Widowed, or Divorced);
Furrier Master Maker;
Southend A.R.P. Air R. Ward...H 04"
