Beaded cardigan

Hi all! I’m thinking 50s/60s for this pretty little cardigan but I’d love to nail down a decade. Any ideas?

Hi there,

From the RN Database (you can also look up WPL numbers) https://rn.ftc.gov/Account/BasicSearch

I see your sweater's number is from THE ASSOCIATED MERCHANDISING CORPORATION, NY, an importer and wholesaler.

I usually associate the 3/4-sleeve beaded sweater with 50s and the full sleeve as 60s, but that is just a rough guide.

I see Maggie beat me to the RN link: the AMC was established in '69 so that's the earliest date for your item.

Beaded cardigans were most popular during the '50s and '60 and as Maggie says, there are differences which can help you discern between the two decades (see my blog post here) but the style was still being made in the '70s and '80s for tourists and for all I know, may still be being made now. Your labels and the bigger, looser style which hangs below the waist plus the absence of shoulder pads suggest yours is '70s to me.
