Beaded Silk Dress....20s or Older?

I'm suspecting older, but I dont get a LOT of stuff older than 30s so I need some hand-holding.

Got an email yesterday from a guy who has an antique shop, said he had a beaded flapper dress & some other things & he wasnt interested in selling them on his sales floor, did I want to look. Yep! So I get there and out of a filing cabinet drawer he pulls THIS....

He says its 20s flapper, one sold on ebay the other day for $165....said he wasnt asking that much but wanted ME to know what I could get out of it. It only has one tiny hole, no shattering, only missing a few beads AND a larger size.

Something about it is striking me as pre 20s. Anyone want to confirm, why/when? Some details...

Thanks so much! Sad thing is, 20s beaded without flapper will likely garner less attention.

Oh well. I'm not sure if its going to eBay or the site. It deserves to do well, its stunning and a dang good size! I'll have to think about it.

Early 1920s, 1920- 23 I would guess. It's the straight tubular but loose cut, with low waist that barely grazes the hips and long ankle length that dates it. It will display well over a light colored slip.

Oh what a great dress, it has the same amount of beading on the back as the front which is a great plus for your or the dress .You should point that out when it goes on sale.

its a cusp dress just after the edwardian era ended 1914...and very early 20's...somehwre betwixt....a pre flapper dress.. could be KW...
