Hello all!
I'm hoping that soeone here will have a bit more knowledge than me....
One of my favorite vintage designers is Ben Zuckerman. I have never been able to find out much about him. He specialized in suits and coats and was a master of tailoring. He had one of the largest collections each season, which is surprising considering how little Ben Zuckerman is available now!
He was in business from the early 50's to 1969 (from what I have read). Jackie O and Grace Kelly were fans of his.
Anyone else know anything more?
I have a coat and 2 suits from him and they are mini masterpieces! I'm always on the look out for more. I'll post pictures when I can find the garments, as they are packed away for the summer.
Thanks again,
Louise

I have a couple too and love them!

Not much more to add, but from the VFG label resource (courtesy Artisannes):

"BEN ZUCKERMAN

Ben Zuckerman emigrated to America from Romania to live and work in New York's garment district. His primary skill was tailoring and his suits and coats were admired for their cut and quality. Zuckerman originally worked as part of a partnership, Zuckerman and Kraus, which was formed in 1925. In 1950 it became known as Ben Zuckerman. Zuckerman was known for having the largest collection in most seasons; as many as 300 styles was common. The designer at Zuckerman was Harry Shacter, who was known for his ability to design suits and coats that were highly wearable. Ben Zuckerman closed in 1968. "
