Best Fashion Museums in the World according to Fodors

No no only I could not share all here ...amazing place in an amazing city, for me out of the list because impossible to find similar contest and similar budget payed for the exhibitions (too often from high fas....)

They forgot the 2 Costume Institutes of Philadelphia Museum and Lacma...impossibile arent in the chart. Ferragamo is nice but small, and they dont talk aboutPitti ? !

I agree with you, Carrie about the Museum at FIT but I'd still include the Met Costume Institute as one of the best. I haven't been to any fashion museums outside the US but I'd include the Fine Arts Museums of SF - the DeYoung and The Palace of the Legion of Honor. I've seen some fabulous exhibits there.

I was thrilled to see that F.I.D.M here in LA made the list. I have been fortunate enough to see quite number of exhibitions there over the past decade, as well as seeing some of the permanent collections. While I have not been to Europe, I have been to LACMA here in LA, both FIT and the MET in New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the De Young in San Fran, and they are all impressive, no doubt. Without gushing too much, I have to say that FIDM definitely belongs on that "best 10" list. The entire museum staff is, in a word, stellar. Truly.

Interesting list. I can speak for the Galliera, which is great and I have been there a few times since they reopened. I miss the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris though. True, they do not have a constant fashion exhibition, but they have been putting on some truly great and certainly high profile fashion exhibitions on over the last years, and fashion is definitely a part of what they show.
I'm going on a trip to Japan next summer pinkeleemoti, so I hope I can have a look in at the museum in Tokyo that's mentioned here! I'll have to make a note for when I start planning what to do on the free days I have.

Liza--that IS awful! (I wish I could say that you didn't miss much, but is is really neat!)
