Best Way to Make Connections for \"Good Hauls\"

hi gang,

I do post on here quite intermittently and sell vintage clothing and shoes on ebay. I have no live model and no fancy web pages, so my items don't bring the money that the "trendy" sellers do. However, I'm not here to cry on your shoulders !!...

I absolutely LOVE LOVE vintage clothing, accessories and footwear and love offering them to others.

I'm here to find out how to make connections to find the great vintage finds from the early years (20's - 50's).

Does anyone have any suggestions how to go about making local connections in my area to find those great "hauls" ?

thanks as always

You could try places like craigs list, place an ad in a local paper, Make up some business cards and always carry them with you. If you wear vintage and someone comments on a piece you have on whip out that card. Maybe one for buying and one for selling.

I second all of Brenda's suggestions, from experience. It really depends upon where you live...some places have vintage clothing just waiting to be found, others are pretty scarce.

agreed. I take cards everywhere I go and wear vintage/carry a vintage bag (whatever I can for the situation)....and talk about what I do whenever I can. you'd be surprised how many people have things they think no one would want, or will take your card and call a year later with a house full because they remembered you!

ads in papers, craigslist, flyers.....any way to get the word out. call auctioneers and estate dealers, send them your cards as well....
