Betmar Hat Question

I found this Betmar hat yesterday and since it isn't in the label library, I am having trouble determining it's age.
I know that Betmar hats started in the early 30's and that they still make hats today. I've looked at other hats online and the labels are all different; different fonts, different colors. This label looks to be older, but I'm not sure. I'm wondering also if the "M" could stand for Betty Marks, who started the company and was the designer.
Is this hat velour or something else. It is soft and furry.

It is such a classic style, a relaxed beret, so it can be difficult to know the exact year it was made. The felt is a fur felt, and is not a velour as it a little longer napped than what would be classed as velour felt. Judging by the style, and the type of felt, I would date it to the early 1960s.

Is the label behind the bow or on the opposite side? The way the crown is formed with that fold in suggests to me that the other side might perhaps go towards the front in a more typical beret style, with the bow towards the back.

The label is on the opposite side of the bow so I put the hat on my manni with the label on the back of her head.
