Hi, all. I've found a lovely white hat, net-like with white buds(?) on it, that appears to be vintage 40s or 50s with a tag that says: Betty Jaeger 667 Madison Avenue N.Y.C. I can't any information on that label. Any info? Thanks. (sorry, no pic)

Hi,

Yes, a photo would be great to see as then we can help you date it. I am not familiar with that milliner. What I can say is that Madison Avenue was, at one time, a very exclusive area for women's specialty stores and many wonderful small millinery salons. I have come across quite a variety of hats with Madison Ave labels. Lilly Dache' had a salon there as well. A number of upscale millinery shops opened there right after WWII, (as well as before) and sadly, almost all of them closed in the late 1950s and early 1960s when hats began to fall out of fashion. I am sure Betty had a very lovely millinery shop, and I would love to see your hat.

You can try to Google her name, and if you find anything that way, please share with us.
