Bien Jolie Foundations?

Ok, here's another from the same house call. I'm feeling late 30s on this one but that just might be because of the mags I searched through last night. I didn't find Bien Jolie, does anyone know anything about them?

The straps have been shortened by folding them inside and hand stitching. I didn't remove that sould I do it before listing or is it ok to list as is? Any thoughts you guys have will be greatly appreciated!

I've had Bien Jolie undergarments before (long line bras). I'm getting a early- mid 50's vibe from this one though. The triangular bust cups resemble in shape those that I have had from the very late 40's to mid 50's.

If the straps have been shortened with bad sewing, I'd undo them. If not, leave 'em :)

Nope, definitely not earlier than the late 40's- early 50's (I meant to add in late 40's in my above post). Although all in one bras/girdles were available in the 20's, the bust cup definition is typical of bras from the late 40's through the 50's.

A 1920's corselette would have had a monobosom bra (the ad you found is a good example of the monobosom bra) and early 30's would have had similar with slightly more defined cups. With late 30's you start to see a trend towards cup definition but this remains stagnant due to the war. Triangular bust cups with bust definition such as this really only started to come into fashion with the New Look era which then evolved into the bullet bra of the late 50's.

I used to have a longline corset from the 1910's by Bien Jolie too, just remembered about it! :)

The shape to the cup is one of the reasons I think it may be earlier than the fifties and maybe before 1947. When did this type of nude pink lace begin to be phased out? The straps are not adjustable are they? Those non-adjustable straps tend to be earlier but not always.

In the early 40's some non-lace bra cups were more structured because of the fabric as for example this one;

Bien Jolie used 'Foundations' as part of their name in 1946 but later - and I think this example is 1950's - they were known as Bien Jolie;
