Black silk dress - help dating please?

Hello :)

Hope I am not asking too many questions here! :embaressed:

Found this dress today and I'm sort of in love with it. :wub: It is a larger size, so maybe...

I like trumpet hem and the open back. I'm not sure of the dating, though? No tag, unfortunately! There is a metal zipper in the back that reads "CC" on one side and "usa" on the other. with a little"e" also.

I believe the dress is a silk taffeta. There is also a jacket that seems to match it, but it's odd because the jacket isn't silk - some kind of poly.

Would this be 50's maybe? I have a few dresses from the late 40's, early 50's with the same kind of sequin detailing. But, not sure...

The jacket was done later and I suspect the sequins were added at that time. The dress is quite wonderful but I think the jacket spoils it. Its really hard to calculate the age beause with the jacket it looks 90s maybe? Hard to tell... the dress is much nicer and looks late 40s or early 50s to me.

Yes, I pretty much hate that jacket...! The dress on the other hand is lovely. I think I'll toss the jacket.
