BooHoo!

Seems like I always miss out on the latest vintage fad. Last fall I barely sold the white rabbit stole of the season as I believe mine was the last one offered! So yesterday when I found a pair of those Capezio butterfly booots in an antique mall for $40, I wasn't even tempted. I was sure that look was over.

Wrong.:(

If the place were closer, I'd already be on the road, but it's over an hour away. But I'll be back that way next week so I've got my fingers crossed that they will still be there!

Well, it looks as if some of the girls-of-the-moment have to have them. All the auction have the same photos of Sienna and Brittany wearing them.

They've been 'back' in a big way at least since last December - maybe earlier than that. They regularly turn up on

Ebay's 'pulse' list for vintage (most watched items)

In fact there's a pair on the list right now.

Completed items - have a look at these prices!

I bought a pair, size 5.5, in Florida in February for $20. Listed them in March with a $235. BIN; they sold in less than 12 hours and I was so pleased with myself. These boots weren't bringing the kind of prices then that they are now.

Lizzie if I were you I'd be trying to come up with reasons to head back to that store right quick!

:)

Wow! I didn't know there was a trend for these either (not that I have ever seen a pair around here). I will definitely be on the lookout - given my luck though at missing trends, I'll find a pair in six months when
I won't be able to give them away.

Good luck at getting those ones you saw Lizzie

LOL...sorry guys...had to laugh! Not at anyone in particular but I just figured out myself that these are in! I'm not a fashion maven, by any means (jeans and work boots are preferred by me!)

Remember how I discovered that "Boho" means "Bohemian"? Well, I went to eBay and typed in "Boho" in the search box. After all of the options came up and I was flabergasted, I clicked on "Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories" to narrow the options. THEN, I clicked on "Vintage". THEN I scrolled down and chose the option on the left to see the completed listings. Then, since I have a habit of wanting to know what brings in a high price I sorted by "Price: Highest First".

WOW! Would you look at all of those BOOTS?! LOL

So I ran out to the vintage store but didn't find anything but those Knee High Aigners and the Clogs.

*POUT!*

If I had the chance I'd run back to that store and get them! Even if it DID take me an hour!!! LOL

Just my 2 cents....Patti

I can almost guarantee you all that if those boots are still there and I buy them, this is one fad that will suddenly wither and die. Happens every time!

Does anyone have that program where you can see the keyword hits? I wonder if people are actually SEARCHING by Boho? Seems kinda pointless when half of the vintage offerings on ebay have it in the title!

In the fall I sold a few pairs of the 80s peter pan boots i call them. Low cuffed suede boots with a totally flat sole. You just never know.

I really think the reason why you might see something in a corner of a store for little money is that the shop doesn't have their finger on the pulse of what is hot at the moment, or don't have the clientele that it is hot with. Sometimes what is hot in West Central Frogstump is ice cold in Manhatten and vice versa.

You don't even want to know what is considered fashionable here. Well, maybe that is the wrong term...its not what is fashionable, but whatever is worn by multiple people LOL

BTW, I find capezio always does respectably. Mostly for dance shoes of course but it is a name people know. If i so no name in something i might not pick it up but it has a following.

I had those. I bought them because I thought they were hideous. I still do...think they're hideous.

LMAO

For these boots all you need is Vintage Capezio Butterfly Boots Brittney - which leaves a good amount of space for adjectives and size info :D

I know how you feel about trends coming to an abrupt end when you have one (of whatever) for sale. I'm convinced crochet dresses were pronounced OVER once I had a lovely hand made (Phillipines) dress & matching jacket...
