Bowling Shoes

Hello, new FRIEND here...

I have been looking for a pair of old school bowling shoes for years.
I want a pair like the ones you use to be able to hire at public bowling alleys in the UK: Red and Blue leather with a thin white line down the middle, lace ups with a leather sole.

I've searched the depths of Google and come up with just one image (attached)
Taken from about half way down the page here: http://amostle.com/blog/2009/06/22/my-shoe-collection/

Please help me find a place that sells this sort of thing.

Thanks in advance

I see them on Etsy from time to time. I sold this fun pair awhile back:

What size are you looking for?

Thanks for the quick replies :)

It's been a long search and I've found very few... I've tried bowling alleys, but they've all changed over to new trainer type ones, there must have been thousands of old pairs just dumped :(

The added trouble is I'd like them in a size 12 (UK) so the search is just that much harder :(

Thanks again and if anyone happens to have a spare pair ....

Still searching?? I have a pair that you may be interested in - and I have the matching bowling bag!! I was at a flea market a few years ago and saw this great bag on the back of truck heading for the trash- I had to do some major flirting to convince him I should have that bag! Let me know and I can take some pics for you!

Brand new bowling shoes are like $30. How much cheaper do you want?

I'm thinking the OP wasn't concerned about "cheaper" shoes - but more about find a specific pair, regardless of the price (within reason)

Not everyone is into "shiny & new" things.

In case the OP is still following:

I found some repro ones on ebay.co.uk in size 12. They aren't exactly like the ones pictured, but a similar vibe and red white & blue, though they have a rubber rather than leather sole.

Search for item number 350406187531

and online shop called fantasyshoe that makes them to order, so presumably any size, though again synthetic soles, similar in style to the ebay ones above.

Searching for red white and blue bowling shoes brought up quite a few repro ones.

But maybe you want the originals, which of course we would all understand!

Great thanks for the link, very similar to what I'm looking for. Had forgotten all about that look! got a big 1950's event comming up soon so I might just go for those ... as long as my style guru (read GF) aproves!:clapping:
