And again, for over the ocean...

Whenever I visit somewhere away from my home town I look for places to shop for vintage - obviously! - but they are sometimes hard to track down as they are not on the main streets etc. I'm sure a lot of people do the same. So....

The purpose of this thread is to try and compile a list/guide of vintage or antique clothing shops/stores around the US and Canada. Please add any that you know of here, and include name, address (and a brief description if possible!)

*Please note, this list is for information purposes only and does not indicate endorsement - or guarantee a good find!*

I really hope that I get to make use of THIS list someday!! And if you know of a great vintage store that is in an area not already covered please feel free to start a new thread ;)

Another Time Antiques!

Well Let me take a moment to introduce you to my Brick and Mortar shop!

I'm not going to load up pictures here because I created a "walking tour" through the Gallery link on my website. I hope you'll visit!

Another Time is my soul baby and was born in 1978. Started in my farm house - and is now housed in an historic building on Main St Caledonia.

The store has 2 great rooms and is a very unique boutique. Every little thing you can think of for fashion is included.... and I hope a few other items you didn't think of! Predominantly womens/childrens goods ...only because I don't find ENOUGH good mens wear! But I always have a few trinkets for the guys.

Shop is open Tues, Thr--Sat. Monday by chance/appt. Closed Sundays. I will gladly make appointments for VFG travelers who are in town on other days too!

Come on in and take a peek! Lots of detail on the website - with a map too.

New York has a ton of places! But if you ever find yourself off the beaten track of the hustle and bustle of NYC and on the ferry to Staten Island, these are a couple of my favorite haunts.

Everything Goes - Bay Street - It has three shops within walking distance of the ferry and each other. One is clothing, one is furniture and one is a gallery where you'll find art and other unique things. These places are run by this weird commune of people but they sell everything. I mean, I've seen vintage toothpaste there! Everything is donated or "left" to them and the prices are definitely reasonable.

The two Salvation Army thrift stores are excellent. One on Castelton Ave and the other on Mosley. Mosely has nicer stuff but is getting a little outlandish in their pricing lately. Castleton is cheaper but the selection is not nearly as good.

There is an adorable vintage shop on Van Duzer St that I don't know the name of but the woman has wonderful stuff. It's retail prices so there's no finding something to re-sell. But it's great to look around in and her purses are always funky and fabulous. Plus, there's a way cool coffee shop across the street called the Muddy Cup. Almost feels like a little piece of Manhattan. Almost. lol

And of course if anyone ever finds themselves in this neck of the woods, give me a shout and I'd be delighted to play hostess and show you the cool stuff.

Hi, just in case you didn't see us elsewhere....my shop's AVALON, the stepchild of my first shop PHANTASMAGORIA, founded in 1967. We're serving our third generation of customers in downtown Portland Oregon, 410 SW Oak, open noon-6 seven days. A department store of vintage from Victorian to Versace, about evenly divvied male and female. A whole wall of suits, showcase of fedoras, a particularly mad selection of shoes for men..heels, anyone?, 100s of neckties, tuxedos, ladies gowns, suits, lingerie, hats. Collectible costume jewelry and 'real' too; vintage watches. Need collar studs? We got 'em. Paris garters? They're there somewhere.

I also do forays onto ebay as avamac410.
