Got back late last night from Bristol as we had a stall at Edwin's vintage fair. My feet are swollen and I have a heap 'o stuff on the floor in the living room waiting to be put away but here are the few picks we managed to take!
We took them at the end of the day as it was too busy to take them before and during.
Jake took this one, hence the low angle..

Me in my late 50's- 1960 fringe trim wiggle dress. I bought a repro bullet bra to wear with it and the zip went up easy with it on than with my normal bra..

It was very busy at the fair but it seems that 1980's things are the flavour of the minute. There were a lot of students as well as well as older women wearing, trying and buying 80's things too. My cut off point for selling is 1975 (my birthday year) and I refuse to deal in 80's as I hated the styles when I was a kid and still hate them now.
I didn't bring much antique stuff as I don't like getting old things manhandled at the fair but brought 1920's- 1960's things with loads of 50's.
One bizarre thing I saw a young woman wearing (she must have been 17 to 20) was a 1980's small print patterned blouse (like the Laura Ashely Victorian blouses of the 80's)- the kind that are long and meant to be tucked into trousers or a skirt- being worn as a dress!!!! The blouse only just covered her bum (she was shortish and skinny thank goodness!) and she was only wearing a pair of thick dark tights with it (not leggings- tights) and a pair of converse shoes. That was one of those DIY "vintage" things
Jamie Breese came to the fair and took pix of my stall + my antique corset (and of the fair too) for some of his upcoming articles he is writing on corsets, vintage clothing, vintage fairs, etc.
His next article is going to be in the Sunday Mirror and another for Yours magazine. He said that he will let me know what others pop up too.
I wore my vintage 50's contrasting black seamed stockings which I paid a small fortune for because of the contrasting seams that I promptly got a run in them :( At least they were pale and matched my legs so the run didn't show, I'll keep them and wear them with a long dress or something.
Bought some stuff too, black seamed stockings and a 1950's black bra girdle which I still have to try on!! LOL, I was there to sell but as usual, you always have to buy something. :D
All in all, it was an enjoyable day and I'm doing it all again in two weeks time at Cheltenham!!
