Brown Fur Coat With Embroidered Letters

The letters appear to be EMS.

I'm inexperienced at fur identification, but my guess would be fox or beaver.

Any help you can offer in identifying the fur type or brand is greatly appreciated.

The letters are the initials of the original owner. I'm sure our fur expert will be around shortly to identify the type of fur for you!

Thank you for those photos. The fur type is muskrat that was dyed to look like mink and it dates to the 50s.
As for the brand, if there's not a label it would not be known. Most likely if there was a label it would not have been a recognized brand but rather the name of a furrier or fur salon.
