Bullockw Wilshire Fraud?

Hello,
I introduced myself in another thread but I'll also include here that I'm in charge of a collection of vintage fashion items from Bullocks Wilshire. I had an item purchased for me that I suspect is not authentic. I've not come across one Bullocks Wilshire item where the BW tag is sewn over the manufacturer's tag. I suspect this is a fraudulent BW item with a BW tag sewn over. What do you all think? It was listed as a Vintage Ultrasport Ltd for Bullocks Wilshire Velour Tracksuit Size M Black 2 Piece Zip Up Jacket Pants Made in the USA , 80's, 90's.

Back in the earlier part of the 20th Century, the Department Store was the big deal, the designers of the garments were the mere providers of clothing, therefore it was often seen that the shop tags would feature prominently, and the designer may be in a side seam, underneath or not at all. This is a bit later than the common era for that, but not at all unreasonable!

I am inclined to agree that this is legitimate.

On newspapers.com I found that Ultrasport was sold at BW throughout the 1980s. These are 1981 and 1989.

Also, here is a Neiman Marcus label over an Ultrasport label from the same era:

Per forum rules, we don't authenticate items here but I will say that I most definitely have seen department store tags sewn directly over manufacturer tags.
Ah, sorry. I wasn't looking for an authentication necessarily just for opinions or resources like the one's Denise posted or your input about tags being sewn over tags. All very useful thank you everyone!
