Interesting label, I have never seen this one before. It looks like an older style to me late 40s - early 50s.

I don't think that printed inner pocket label is as old as 1940s/50s, maybe, but not sure. But agree that 'covert coating' is interesting.

I've been reading about covert coating (cloth) and covert coats. This post gives a good overview: http://fabricforcosplayers.com/covert/
Basically covert coating is a water resistant tweed, and a covert coat was originally designed for wearing for country sports, including on horseback.
I believe the label mentioning 'coating', refers to the fabric. Possibly the coat probably qualifies as a 'covert coat' as well? While it would be helpful to date the coat, the interior labels suggests this is a bespoke garment. I don't know much about Burberry but (in the past at least) they offered a custom-made option and there was likely a range of fabrics available. So the pink check might be unusual but not unique as it would be a stock fabric and available for other customers.
