Burberrys Label NEED HELP

Hi there, wondered if you can help with this...I can't seem to find this label anywhere to date this sweater. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your picture is too little to read. Is there a way you can make it bigger?

I have not seen that label but Burberry dropped the S in 1998. All labels after 1998 said Burberry.
The white stitches are usually in a complete square on a label like that whereas the edges of yours curve in. I have not seen burberry labels with golf clubs behind the horses either.

Its a golf label. Those are golf clubs
The sweater has some stretch, the stitching is straight on, except the label is stretched. This is an old sweater!

I was wondering about the date not the authenticity. I am 100% this is a real Burberry sweater. There are many older Burberrys that do not have an apostrophe.
Thanks for you help though.

Ahhh, ok. I get the golf clubs and I get that the sweater is old and that would make sense because Burberry had an S on their labels prior to 1998.
I have not seen that label before. I have offered a lot of Burberry and have seen smaller labels without the apostrophe after the S and the really old men's burberrys suits. I haven't seen this label though.
I do know as stated though that Burberry dropped the S in 98.

I think the older golf stuff didn't have the golf clubs. I think this is a licensed item from the 1990s - especially with the "Made in USA" tag.

I work for Hampshire museums service which has one of the largest collections of Burberry garments in the U.K. (contrary to popular belief the brand did not start in London, but in fact in Basingstoke) I feel that this is probably late 80's early 90's but I'll have a look and see if i can find this label again on any garments today for you.

Well i've just had a look, can't find any logos with the golf clubs. There is the same label (without the golf clubs) in a coat from Spring 74, but i don't think this is that early especially with the made in the USA and 100% cotton labels. The style as well is such a classic one that it makes it v. difficult!

I'm not a Burberry expert but my feeling is that this is from the '80s and I would say authentic. Judging by how it sits on the mannequin, I'm thinking it's for a man rather than woman - the armholes are enormous.

In the label resource there are many labels with the criss cross edging design, from the '60s-80s and I agree with msgrossmyer that the "Made in US" puts it fairly recently so I would go with the top end of that dating. Also, the styling is very '80s (although golf wear is less subject to fashion that other types of clothing).

I know nothing about modern Burberry, but from what I was able to glean on googling, this does appear to be a licensed product, based on the label and the US manufacture--as msgrossmyer says.
