Hi all...... well I have notes I took on a burn test and depending on what resource I look up I it could be rayon or silk? I am really hoping rayon but I want to check because I don't want to be bias, here are the notes I took upon the burn. Please let me know.
faint harsh smell almost like a match, had to lean in to smell it. ignited easily, burned steady and rather quickly with an even flame and an orange glow on the material. Afterburn was a uniform medium grey, 1 inch of material left about a 1 cm of loose curled ash that blew away i could still the the weave of the fiber in the reminants. Flame burned out when reached the pliers and did not burn the rest of material. No other residue. Fibers glowed for about 2 secs after flame self extenguished. Did not retreat from flame, ignited easily, no smoke at all while there was a flame. after flame extenguished there was very very minimal whitish to light grey smoke.
