Hey,

I'm really getting to the bottom of the bottom of my stuff. Can you tell? If not, check my "owl pants" post ;) Anyhoo, is this 2 piece a hit or miss? And is it a nightie & bed jacket? Year?

Thanks!
Vix

That's very pretty. There are people that look for Anne Fogarty. I would say Peignior (pegnoir? i think is the right spelling) versus "bed jacket". Bed jackets are short.

It's a hit! I really like the scalloped front of the bodice. Late 50s to early 60s.

BTW, I have this label on a crinoline which I believe is a little older, so she must have done this line for several years. I don't remember that there is any reference to it in her book.

I vote big hit too! I, for one, am always looking for Anne Fogarty. I love her!

Lizzie, there's an Anne Fogarty book??? What's it called? I need to add it to my list of must haves!!

Ooooooooooooh! AaaaaaaaaaaH!

Wouldn't this be considered a rather RARE Anne Fogarty piece? I see BIG $$$$$.

The Anne Fogarty Book is called "Wife Dressing." It sounds totally insipid, but actually is quite a fun read. It isn't very useful in dating her stuff, as it is mainly a "how-to-dress" book, but she does through in interesting tid-bits about her career here and there. It was published in 1959, just as she was leaving Margot, and working mainly for Saks.

And, yes, it is a must have imo.

Lizzie -
besides career tidbits, do you also think it has a value for "cultural" history?

I am now the new owner of the Anne Fogarty, btw, and can't wait to get it :)
