Hi all

I'm sure someone out there will have more info on this jacket for me. I found it at my local charity shop but am uncertain as to era and style.

The label says John Weitz Director Collection at Burton.

Any info gratefully received!
Thanks so much

Nice Jacket. I'm seeing 70s but there are other people here who know their menswear better than I.

With those four front patch pockets, you could describe it as a safari jacket, perhaps? I'd be interested to see the back if you have a photo.

There's a blog on dating Burton clothes. It includes a different John Weitz label under the 70s.

This book says Burton hired him in the mid 70s: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=XfVjbe8ZsyYC&pg=PA160&lpg=PA160&dq=john weitz burton ltd&source=bl&ots=h_5rrkcGQy&sig=A523z-tirORXUJM2hclcTncqXFY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=YNhYVI66KYK_sQT9wIGwBg&ved=0CEoQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=john weitz burton ltd&f=false

So I guess I'm right on 70s.

John Weitz was a German Jewish designer, who came to England before WW2, then to the USA. Here is an obituary
