Can anyone help me with a date for this crepe, wrap skirt?

This is definately an older skirt, but I'm confused about the date. It is a hand sewn crepe, wrap around, with a seperate tyeable peplume-like thing at the waist. There are hook and eye closures that go halfway down the split, you can leave them open or be modest.
Sorry about the pictures, but it's been raining non stop here so I'm stuck with the bad light.

Paula, I'm thinking maybe a cusper - late 30s, early 40s. Be interested to
hear what some of the others say.

Thanks Theresa, and Sue,
I was kinda hoping Jonathan would grace this post with a reponse. I guess it's not high end enough for the likes of him. {{{Tee-hee!}}} Just kidding.
Any one else care to venture a guess?
I think I agree with you Sue on the the late 30's. Mostly because of the way it's sewn, and the feel of the fabric.
So unless anyone has a different oppinion, I guess I'll go with the 30's-40's.
Thanks again,
Paula

Jonathan may still pop in - he hasn't been on the boards much the past
two days.

That fabric and the side drape make me think it's late 30s.

Definately wartime 40s. Hook and eye closures are common during the war because they use less metal, the straigth skirt uses less fabric, there was a fashion for evening separates during the war as well, and the wrap around peplum immitates a sarong which is a big inspiration during the 40s as well. These are actually hard to find but you see them in fashion articles like Vogue (around 1942/43)
