Can anyone read or make an educated guess at this shoe label?

Using a magnifying glass I think I see Hannah____ _____ Footwear

I definitely see Footwear. I love the insoles, but they were a bad call for preserving the maker's name!

Man, the pattern on that insole messes with your eyes!! I can't tell what it says. The pattern looks like spider webs. Wasn't that a popular motif late 40s early 50s????

Yes, it has a spider webby look now that you mention it Carrie. The stamp REALLY didn't work on it. Another clue is the inside side heel stamp "AAAAAHEEL COME LAST" The COME is stamped over the LAST.

Jenn's rendition made it easier for me to see that I think the second word is "Exquisite" (and "Footwear"). I found this 1942 blurb that I think reassures us that it is Hannahson's Exquisite Footwear:

They are saying later 40s to me, too. I looked at a few ads for Hannahson shoes and the 50s shoes had a taller, slimmer heel.
